Eastbound & Down Season 4 Spoilers: What Will Kenny Powers Do?
With the recent announcement from HBO about the renewal of their comedy Eastbound & Down for a fourth season, the show fans may wonder what an additional season would be like. Indeed, the third season ended in such a way that would make a great series finale – only the series creators, star Danny McBride, Jody Hill and Will Ferrell, felt they had more to say about the legend of Kenny Powers.
In an interview following the renewal announcement, McBride says they wanted to explore how the story would develop with Kenny and April living together as a family, with their baby son Toby. Season 3 ended with Powers assumed dead after a car accident – but secretly returning to April in order to try a family life together, leaving his baseball dreams and success behind.
In season 4, Kenny and April are together, but could Kenny keep his promise this time? McBride says:
We wouldn’t have signed up for it if we weren’t confident about being able to deliver something that won’t take away from what we’ve done, that will add to it and give us one last encore performance of this disgusting man.
Season 4, however, will be the last in the saga of Kenny Powers. Hill says:
HBO’s going to let us wrap things up the way we want to do it, so we figure one more’s going to do it.
