Doctor Who Season 6 Premiere Date Confirmed At Comic Con (And The Trailer)
And the good news for all Doctor Who fans out there is that you only have a few more weeks to wait until the next instalment.
The hit sci-fi show is currently on a mid-season break but it will return with the final six episodes of the current series to BBC One and BBC America, starting on Saturday, August 27th.
Smith and Gillan teased a hall full of dedicated fans at Comic Con that they can look forward to “huge cliffhangers” and the disclosure of some juicy “secrets” when the remaining six episodes air.
Speaking about what lies ahead for her character, Gillan said “My secret, I’ve still got. And you still don’t know it. It’s so exciting! I feel so powerful now.”
Matt Smith added “Steven [Moffat]‘s told Karen something about…..we can’t even say what it’s about. She’s told me what it’s about, but she won’t say what it is.”
The panel also previewed clips from the second half of the sixth series and released a brand new trailer which you can watch below. The highlights include Rory punching out Adolf Hitler, the return of River Song (with an eyepatch), an old Amy Pond and more of the Weeping Angels.

The first two episodes back are entitled Let’s Kill Hitler and Night Terrors.
Doctor Who was renewed by the BBC last month for season 7 which will be spread out between 2012 and 2013, with the current Doctor, Matt Smith also confirmed for the new run.
