The last time we saw British actor, Mark Addy on the our TV screens, his character, Robert Baratheon, King of the Seven Kingdoms was being killed off during the first season of Game of Thrones. And it is safe to say that you couldn’t get much more of a difference for his latest role in Sky 1′s brand new new series, Trollied which starts this week.

In this eight part sitcom, which is set in a fictional supermarket, ‘Valco’, on the outskirts of Manchester in the north-west of England, Mark takes on the role of confirmed bachelor and head butcher, Andy, who in his spare time works on an air-fix model of the HMS Ark Royal.

Addy said he was drawn to the show because “the supermarket is a place that people from all walks of life know and are familiar with, but I’d never seen anything like this before.”

Mark Addy in Trollied

The cast of Trollied is definitely a strong one and also includes Jane Horrocks (probably best known for her role as Bubble in the TV series Absolutely Fabulous) who plays Julie, the acting deputy manager, and Jason Watkins (Being Human) as the supermarket’s manager, Gavin. Nick Blood, Chanel Cresswell and Rita May are among the other stars joining the line up.

Trollied is a slice of life populated by the characters we all see every time we go to our local supermarket from the bored checkout operators and ineffectual managers to the irate and often bizarre customers. Indeed, it has been said that the show is the supermarkets’ answer to The Office, maybe due to that fact that it has the same executive producer as The Office in Ash Atalla, whose others credits include The IT Crowd and Man Stroke Woman.

Trollied premieres this Thursday, 4th August on Sky 1 with a double episode.

Britain’s Next Top Model returned to our screens last night and has been rebranded Britain and Ireland’s Next Top Model or BINTM for short.

It is the seventh series of the show in which a number of women compete for the title of ‘Top Model’ and a chance to start their career in the modelling industry. The winner will be awarded a £1 million contract with top international agency ‘Models 1′, a cover and feature with ‘Company’ Magazine, a contract with Revlon cosmetics worth £100,000, a contract to front an international campaign with high street brand ‘Miss Selfridge’, a luxury Jamaican holiday and if all that wasn’t enough, a brand new Peugeot car.

BINTM is hosted by supermodel, Elle Macpherson who has over 30 years experience in the modelling industry. Elle is supported by three regular judges – Julian Macdonald (Designer), Grace Woodward (Stylist) and Charley Speed (Male Model). They will also be joined during the series by a number of guest judges who this year include Janice Dickenson, Sophie Ellis Bextor and Yvonne Keating (model and wife of Ronan Keating).

This year sees something slightly different and is much more X Factor in style as the judges first take to the road for auditions in six major UK cities in an attempt to find the face of Britain. There is also more of a focus on the personalities of the contestants than in previous series.

Following the auditions, there will be a Boot Camp where the judges must cut the number of contestants down from 90 to just 12. The top 12 will then be put through various challenges to enable them to prove their modelling credentials and each week, one girl will be eliminated until we are down to the final girl, who will be crowned ‘Top Model 2011′.

BNTM airs on Monday nights at 9pm on Sky Living.
