America’s Got Talent 2011 – Wildcard Results

This week on America’s Got Talent is was the turn of the ‘wildcard’ acts to perform; the 12 acts who took to the stage had already been eliminated during earlier stages of the competition and were brought back for one last chance to see if they could book their place in the semifinals.

The wildcard acts were selected by the judges and the first three to learn their fate on last night’s results show were all Sharon Osbourne’s choices – Shevonne (Singer), West Springfield Dance Team (Dance Troupe) and Yellow Designs Stunt Team (Stunt Bikers). Sharon claimed that all three of the acts deserved to move on but only one could, and that one was West Springfield Dance Team.

Avery and the Calico Hearts (Singers), Charles Peachock (Juggler), Those Funny Little People (Novelty Dancers) and The Kinetic King (Trick Designer) were next to be called to the stage and Nick Cannon revealed that is was The Kinetic King who would be moving on to the next round. This seemed to please Piers Morgan who came up on stage and bowed down to the King!

Then it was the battle of the magicians as both Landon Swank and Seth Grabbe were called forward to learn their fate. It was revealed that Landon Swank had won the public vote and would be heading for the semifinals, leaving Piers Morgan to gloat that his magician was chosen and not Howie Mandel’s.

The Fiddleheads (Band), J Chris Newburg (Comedian) and the Summerwind Skippers (Jump Rope Troupe) were the last three acts to be called to the stage. America voted to send J Chris Newburg home which left the fate of The Fiddleheads and Summerwind Skippers in the judges’ hands. Piers gave his vote to the Summerwind Skippers, while Howie chose The Fiddleheads. With Sharon’s vote being the most important at this point, she chose Summerwind Skippers, making them the last act to make it through to the semifinals.

The first of the AGT 2011 semifinals will be shown live next Wednesday, August 24 on NBC.
